It is with great regret that Maori Performing Arts New South Wales announce that we will not be hosting the
Australian National Kapa Haka Festival in NSW in 2014.

The decision was ultimately outside of our control and our committee is deeply saddened by this announcement especially given the immense amount of quality work accomplished to date and the vast quantity of support the Maori and greater community has shown MPANSW.

We have been reassured that this announcement will not negatively impact upon kapa haka groups within NSW that aspire to perform at the festival should another organization decide to host the event in 2014.

MPANSW is committed to supporting kapa haka within NSW and to
this end we will support all roopu in their bid to perform should the festival
continue. We will also continue to support grass roots performing arts groups at all levels.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those
organizations, families and individuals that have supported MPANSW for the short
time that our current committee has been in office. Our apologies go to all
those that have been negatively affected by this announcement.

Any further communication regarding the festival should be directed to
Nga Kapa Taumata Teitei Maori Performing Arts Australia Incorporated (NKTT).
